Dear Friends,
Good Morning!the best time of the day when silence inspires us a lot!no traffic causing pollution;roads are deserted.i was leisurely watching the sea from the balcony.then i saw thi s amazing sight!a brightly illumiated ship was gradually leaving harbour.when it moved,the reflections in the water created wonderful painting................the water was getting beautifully coloured!wow!an awesome sight!today we have Onam sadya by another organisation.Onam is still in the air.pookalam competitions,cultural programmes,the fully decked ladies in kasavu
mundu n veshti,the beautiful gettogether n a grand sadya!what a wonderful way to celebrate a holiday!
mundu n veshti,the beautiful gettogether n a grand sadya!what a wonderful way to celebrate a holiday!Navrattri festival has begun yesterday on saturday[19th sept],with traditional fervor.the ppoj aof Goddess DURGA wa performed in the morning and people from all walks of life offered prayers to the Goddess.dance events n cultural programmes are organised for nine days.
it's celebration time,folks.Muslims celebrate Eid ul Fitr today in gulf countries n in India it is tomorrow.they fast for the whole month from dawn to dusk refraining from eating and drinking anything.i just respect them for this great sacrifice.from small children to the aged,so religiouly they follow the rituals.Eid marks the end of Ramadan,the Islamic holy month of fasting.

Eid which means festivity in Arabic is celebrated after the viewing of the new crescent on the previous evening.Eid ul Fitr means celebrating the breaking of the fasting. for each pain there is pleasure.with dry throats,hunger,prayers,n long hot afternoons,Rama dan days went by.moral values are taught through the rituals.people become generous n concerned towards the less fortunate.unless we feel the hunger we can never feed others.Eid rituals begin at the first night of Shawwal with the symbolic nature of distributing food among the poor n needy.this is known as Zakat.the sincere prayers,strengthens one's mind.according to the capacity,people donate wealth,food generously.this encourages community bonding,sharing n goodwill.it ensures that noone spends the night hungry n every Muslim has enough to celebrate,Eid with ease particularly by partaking in the festivities the next morning by having a hearty breakfast before Eid prayer.
when the whole world celebartes Eid ul Fitr,i join wholehearetdly.the air of festivity n celebration can be felt in each Muslim house hold when frenzied shopping is at its heights.shops are opened till late nights for the last minute shoppers.colourful dresses,sweets n gifts fill the shopper bags.children are excited.
When the preparations started days before,
it's a time for revelry among Muslims.
Eid ul Fitr ,one of the most important festivals,
A time to renew the faith,
A time to meet everyone,to hug n greet each other;
Namaz in mosques n in public places called Idgah,
Where the 'Imman' or priest gives cermon;
after which Muslims visit realtives,
And the graveyards to pay homage to departed souls.
Giving gifts,flashing smiles,making calls,
To wish,'Happy Eid Mubarak';
A time to give n forgive each n everyone
For the wrongs they have done to us;
Like we want Allah to forgive us!

A time to get rid of grudges n move on;
Forgetting the bad they 've done to us;
Despite still feeling the pain n hurt,
Let us make them feel,
Nothing ever has happened.
Let our relationship flourish,
Embracing everyone on Eid day.
Children have lots of fun,
As they get gifts n sweets n delicious feast,
The family gettogether is really wonderful;
Learning the traditions n rituals;
The air of festivity n celebration can be felt;
i just love to visit a muslim family,
to put hennah in my hands,
to participate in the fun n frolic,
and to enjoy the biriyani n kheer n sheer kurma.
We achieve inner peace n satisfaction;
Sanctity is attached to the festival ,
And our blessings are doubled.
the Qawalli competitions are held,
And here,i can't forget two of my Muslim friends,
Who have touched my heart in a special way....
I wish you all the very best n happy moments,
as you still have a special space in the friendship chart!
The mylanchi shrub is blooming n the girls n ladies are busy putting henna.to make it dark,we sprinlke lime water on henna n sugar water.one small mynah sits on the mylanchi shrub n chirps daily.only anu knows what does it wait for!the mynah will fly away any time.............
it's a beautiful weather and a sunday to laze around.in Amrita channel, a Muslim family is showing the nonveg preparation,koyi pidi. n pidi puri.this is apopular dish of the muslims of calicut Muslims.umma in the screen is so graceful with a bright smile.mumtaz,my helper told me she will bring a rikshaw to take me home for Eid.:)i really felt so nice.
i miss Fathima my schoolmate who went away from me .her innocent smile,thattam,and the smell of athar still haunt me..........i would love to meet her once n crack the old jokes n laugh louder..............
if given a choice n chance i will celebrate EID with Rasool Pookutty, not for his fame but for his simple n humble nature n the talent!:)
happy to note that after five months my friend is back in blogosphere!that is the best gift he could give to readers on EID!:)i was surprised!as usual your post is simply awesome,dost!
